Digital Leaders

Welcome to our Digital Leaders page.

We now have a strong team of digital leaders who are embracing their new role with enthusiasm and commitment.

The Role of a Digital Leader:

As you know, ICT in schools has changed and has now become computing with the opportunity for children to learn much more about computer programming amongst a whole range of things.  This means that both children and teachers will be learning lots of different programs and using software that they haven't encountered before.

It is our school's aim to help them with this by providing support and information through a team of Digital Leaders who will be able to offer training, support and find out exciting new things.

Some things you might do as a Digital Leader:
  • Teach Mrs Swann how to make a Prezzi presentation
  • Help Mrs Jones create an online quiz for her class
  • Support Ms Grant in teaching children how to create a game using Scratch
  • Educate your fellow pupils in how to stay safe on-line
  • Run a lunchtime computer club for children in our school
You should be:
  • Committed - we want people to be Digital Leaders who are willing to give up their own time to help others.  If you are chosen to be a Digital Leader, you are expected to stick at it.
  • Technologically minded - we want knowledgeable and enthusiastic people who are willing to try things out, find out new things and who love technology.
  • A good communicator with patience!  Some people might not learn as quickly as you do when it comes to technology. You should be able to explain without taking over (people learn much better when they're doing things themselves) and not get cross or annoyed if people don't "get it" first time.

Talk to Ms Grant if you would like further information.

Non Uniform Day Friday 16th February

Next Friday 16th February we are going to have a non-uniform day. It is traditional for children to bring a donation for the privilege of not wearing uniform. The donations will be for a pupil who has recently undergone surgery to cure his epilepsy, to give to either the Epilepsy Charity, Ronald McDonald House or the Birmingham Children’s Hospital. We would suggest that the children wear something red as he is a keen Arsenal fan.
