What is Fiction Express for Schools?

Fiction Express for Schools is a genuinely new and original platform for publishing fiction, as it allows readers to determine the course of the plot, in real time, while the stories are being written.

How does Fiction Express for Schools work?

Fiction Express for Schools e-books are published in weekly episodes each Friday on the Fiction Express for Schools website. At the end of every cliffhanging episode readers are given voting options to decide where the plot should go next. They vote and the winning vote is conveyed to the author, who then writes the next episode, in ‘real time’, according to what the readers chose.

The new Autumn Term stories have been released.  If you've read the first chapters, what did you think?  Which way did you vote?  Take the survey here

Busy Last Week Ahead!

As we enter our last week before the summer holidays, we have lots going on including our lovely head, Mrs Swann, saying goodbye to us!  Here are some of the events:

  • Monday sees children meeting their new teachers and classmates in the afternoon.
  • Tuesday is our sponsored fun run in aid of Cancer Research where children are asked to come wearing in pink or blue clothes suitable for running.  Later that morning, Sports Awards will be presented.
  • Reading treats will be taking place for different year groups throughout the week
  • Year 6 continue to rehearse for their leavers' assembly which will be presented to parents and carers at 10am on Friday, 21st July in the hall (there will be a DVD of the performance to order).  Some of our year sixes will also be representing the school at the regional atheletics final on Thursday.
  • We are having a whole school picnic on Thursday at lunchtime to celebrate our time with Mrs Swann - don't forget packed lunches!
  • There is a special lunch on Friday, chosen by the year sixes, on their last day of primary school.

There's lots more going on besides so do keep an eye on Dojo for messages from individual teachers and for information on whole school activities.
