Year 4 Topic

Autumn 2015

Welcome to year 4!

This term we will be immersing ourselves in the Rugby World Cup which will help us to understand our geography related to the UK, Europe and the World. Using these real life events, and following it as the tournament progresses, will allow us to make reports on what is happening, develop our descriptive writing skills and use live websites to keep track of events to aid with our information booklets.

Alongside this, we are also discovering the exiting world of out of space. This will involve understanding our solar system as well as learning about why we have seasons, day and night and sun rise and sun set.

After half term, we are delving into the past to uncover the ancient world of the Romans. We will be investigating how they lived, by looking at artefacts and considering what this tells us about them.

We will be transforming into geologists and sifting through rocks and soils to understand how they are made and identifying the different types of rocks that we find.

PE days:

Mrs Jones: Monday and Thursday

Miss Froggatt: Wednesday and Thursday

Looking forward to the term ahead!
