Creating Web Pages

This term in our ICT lessons, we will be creating a web page with a partner to show off our research into World War II.  We will be using  Google sites for this and considering the following:

  • looking at a range of websites and evaluating them
  • using mind mapping software to record and share our evaluations and thoughts
  • edit pages to create a website
  • cropping and resizing photos and images  to put on our web page.
  •  taking pictures of our own work and uploading them onto the website
  •  developing our skills in selecting pictures that complement our research and development
  • We will be thinking about finding the right image, discussing web publishing issues, digital citizenship issues and Esafety issues
  •  evaluating  our own websites against our own criteria.

Busy Last Week Ahead!

As we enter our last week before the summer holidays, we have lots going on including our lovely head, Mrs Swann, saying goodbye to us!  Here are some of the events:

  • Monday sees children meeting their new teachers and classmates in the afternoon.
  • Tuesday is our sponsored fun run in aid of Cancer Research where children are asked to come wearing in pink or blue clothes suitable for running.  Later that morning, Sports Awards will be presented.
  • Reading treats will be taking place for different year groups throughout the week
  • Year 6 continue to rehearse for their leavers' assembly which will be presented to parents and carers at 10am on Friday, 21st July in the hall (there will be a DVD of the performance to order).  Some of our year sixes will also be representing the school at the regional atheletics final on Thursday.
  • We are having a whole school picnic on Thursday at lunchtime to celebrate our time with Mrs Swann - don't forget packed lunches!
  • There is a special lunch on Friday, chosen by the year sixes, on their last day of primary school.

There's lots more going on besides so do keep an eye on Dojo for messages from individual teachers and for information on whole school activities.
